Major League Baseball executives may be rejoicing over this year’s World Series matchup between the league’s wealthiest clubs and biggest markets, the Dodgers and the Yankees, a far cry from last year’s underwhelming Texas-Arizona sitch. But the reality is that this auspicious outcome overlays some thorny and nuanced and enduring economic challenges.
