This afternoon, about 97 percent of New York magazine’s union said it would walk out unless “management agrees to a fair contract.” This is the first time that this union, which is separate from Vox Media’s union for reasons that neither you nor I should bother caring about, has threatened a work stoppage. It’s depressing and sad, but also evocative of broader media trends.
