One of the biggest stories of 2025 was supposed to be the integration of Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus. And it has been a huge story, though not for the right reasons. Brands had been optimistic that they would quickly receive back-payments for the millions of dollars that some were owed from Saks Fifth Avenue and Saks.com. After all, Saks Global chairman Richard Baker raised $2.7 billion to close the deal last summer.
