Mike Johnson has notched his share of victories in his 18 months as speaker of the House, not least of which is that he still has the job—which few thought would be possible given the Republican Party’s nanoscopic majority. Along the way, he’s angered colleagues, faced multiple threats to his leadership, and struggled to wrangle the votes for his January speaker election.
