Over the past few years, as A.I. has ballooned into a multitrillion-dollar industry, the debate on Capitol Hill over how to regulate the technology has become increasingly heated—and, obviously, extremely well-funded. Most recently, Leading the Future, a super PAC bankrolled with some $100 million by a group of Silicon Valley’s most influential A.I. investors and power players, has announced its intentions to shape the 2026 midterms. New York Assemblyman Alex Bores, who is running in the Democratic primary to succeed retiring Congressman Jerry Nadler, is the group’s first target.
